The Mokwheel Basalt rolls on 26×4-inch fatbike wheels and comes in either traditional or step-thru models.

The Basalt is powered by a 48V 750W brushless rear hub motor, which is paired to a Samsung 48V 19.6Ah battery. The bike weighs in at 80 pounds and has a claimed range of 60 to 80 miles per charge.

The top speed is reported to be 28 mph using Level 5 of the Pedal Assist system. Total payload capacity (including rider) is 400 pounds.

Stopping is accomplished via Textro HD-E350 hydraulic disc brakes, while a 7-Speed Shimano rear derailleur handles shifting duties. Like many eBikes, there’s no front derailleur. Up front, a 110mm travel suspension fork helps mellow out the bumps.

The Mokwheel Basalt and Basalt ST retail for $1,599. The Basalt comes in 3 different colors: steel blue, jungle camouflage and grey, while the Basalt ST is available in five color schemes, including dark orange, dark olive green, white, jungle camouflage and plum. Both models are available in two sizes: Normal (which fits riders between 5’2″ – 6’4″) and Large ( for riders between 5’6″ – 6’8″).

Mokwheel introduced the concept of the Power Station eBike, which allows you to harness the power of the battery to charge various electronic devices, such as phones, laptops and coffee makers. The company also sells accessories such as foldable solar panels that allow you to charge your bike using the power of the sun.
