While the Rad Power Radster Trail off-road eBike shares a platform with the Radster, this bike is at home on dirt.
The Radster Trail rolls on 27.5″ wheels wrapped in Kenda Havok 3″ mid-fat tires. A Suntour hydraulic suspension fork with 80mm travel utilizes modern thru axles to hold the wheel in place instead of quick release skewers.
Stopping is courtesy of Tektro Hydraulic Disc E350 brakes and the drivetrain is a Shimano 1×8 with an 11×34-tooth cassette.
On the electronic side of the bike, a 750W Rear hub motor produces 100 Nm torque. The battery is a semi-integrated 15Ah 720 Wh Safe Shield Advanced, with either Samsung 50GB or LG M50LT cells. The headlight and taillight both feature auto-on technology. The front headlight is a 200-lumens LED headlight with built-in reflector and the rear is an integrated taillight with brake light and turn signals.
The top speed of the Radster Trail off-road eBike is 28 mph and it gets 25 to 65 miles per charge. There are five pedal assist modes, including a zero-assist option.
The bike’s color display is packed with data and shows speed, distance, estimated remaining distance, pedal assist level, trip time, motor watts, headlight and taillight controls, turn signal controls, USB charge indicator class level and control lock.
The Control Lock feature locks the Radster Trail off-road eBike. Riders can unlock it with a key fob or security code.
The Radster ships in Class 2 mode, but can be switched to Class 1 or 3 via the display.
Class 1 allows up to 20 mph and the throttle only works while pedaling. Class 2 also allows for up to 20 mph while pedaling or throttling. In Class 3 mode, the bike is limited to 28 mph while pedaling.
The eBike is available in two sizes, regular for riders 4’11”-5’8″, and large for riders 5’7″-6’4″. There are two available color options: Copper Red and Fir Green.
The Radster Trail Off-Road eBike retails for $2,199 at radpowerbikes.com with free shipping. A pro delivery and setup service may also be available for a fee.

Rad Power Bikes is the nation’s largest eBike maker. The company was founded by Mike Radenbaugh, who as a teenager was looking for a better way to pedal his bike the 15 miles to and from school. He tinkered with spare parts and started converting standard bikes to ebikes before launching a crowdsourcing campaign to build the first RadRover. It was Radenbaugh’s mother who suggested naming the company Rad Power Bikes.
