The Ride1Up Prodigy XC eBike is designed for riders who want a real mountain bike experience with the added bonus of a pedal-assist electric motor.
The German-made Brose TF Sprinter mid-drive motor provides 90nm torque and paired with a 36V 14ah Phylion BN21 battery with Samsung cells. The removable battery is locked into the frame with included keys. The Prodigy XC’s top pedal assist speed is 28mph and has a range of 30-50 miles depending on rider weight, terrain, incline and level of assist. The battery, motor and other electronics are hidden within the alloy frame.
The Prodigy XC uses Tektro Orion HD-M750 four piston hydraulic disc brakes. The drivetrain is a MicroSHIFT Advent 1×11 with a Shimano Alivio 11-34 tooth cassette. Ride1Up put 27.5″ wheels paired with Maxxis Forecaster 2.4″ off-road tires on the eBike. While it’s a hardtail, the Prodigy does come with a 20mm travel, 32mm stanchion diameter air suspension fork with hydraulic lockout.
On the electronics side, a handlebar-mounted color display shows ride data and controls the 4 pedal assist modes. An integrated headlight beams at 80 lumens and includes a daylight running mode for safety.
The Prodigy weighs 58 pounds, has a payload capacity of 300 pounds and is suitable for riders between 5’6″ and 6’4″ tall.
The Prodigy XC retails for $1,795 at ride1up.com. It ships free with a 30-day return window and 1 year warranty.
