Video: Broward Deputy hits wheelie boy with cruiser, tackles him

A video circulating on social media shows a Broward County Sheriff Deputy running his unmarked cruiser into a boy on a wheelie bike and then tackling him as the boy attempts to run away, yelling “stop, stop, stop it!”
According to CBS News, the deputy is not under investigation for his actions. The sheriff’s office told CBS that he hit the boy while maneuvering around other cyclists.
The Sheriff’s office released a statement saying this is part of an “ongoing, organized pattern of reckless behavior by groups of juvenile bicyclists that encourages and rewards dangerous stunts and activities in traffic on busy South Florida roads.”
According to one of the people one the scene the group was participating in a peaceful “Ride Out” advertised on social media to celebrate the last day of Spring Break in Deerfield Beach.
The teenager who was hit and tackled was taken to the hospital as a precaution and released. He was issued a juvenile citation, as were several others.
