Critical Mass Daytona Beach, founded in 2010, is dedicated to raising bicycle awareness in our community. It provides a space for like-minded individuals to meet, choose a direction, and ride together. The route and distance are decided by the collective group—known as the “mass”—with a focus on both fun and advocacy.
While Critical Mass certainly has a party-like atmosphere, it carries a deeper message: the streets belong to everyone, and they should be safe for all. By gathering a “critical mass” of riders, the event transforms potentially dangerous public spaces into areas of safety and celebration, making it both a joyful ride and a powerful act of rebellion.
Critical Mass rids typically take place the first Friday of every month – Sept. 27. Gather at 6, ride at 6:30.
